Roof fans - purpose and how to choose
Roof fans are designed to remove air through simple and complex duct systems. They are used in both industrial and residential buildings. Roof fans can be axial or centrifugal. Axial fans are designed for direct removal of air from rooms directly through the ceiling or through duct systems with low pressure losses. Centrifugal fans are designed for the removal of air from the room through more complex ductwork systems with high pressure losses. Roof fans can be used for both hot and cold air removal.
Installing the fan on the outside of the building, i.e. outdoors, avoids indoor noise and saves space.
